The World Health Organisation is advising people living in Ireland not to go on holiday abroad this year.

Yesterday it warned that the worst of the coronavirus is yet to come.

The Government is currently putting together a list of countries the public can fly to without having to quarantine when they return.

WHO Spokesperson Margaret Harris says a holiday abroad would come with many restrictions.

"You're going to spend a lot of time being checked and tested.

"You find depending on where you go you'll be charged for a test, all sorts of things that you may not be happy about.

"But it's a beautiful country, Ireland, it's a beautiful summer.

"People do need to take a rest, but think about taking a safe rest."
