Power outages are being reported across Cork today as Storm Agnes hits the city and county.

Over 2,000 customers have been knocked off the power grid as strong winds are bringing down power lines across the county .

1,700 homes and businesses lost power in Bandon this morning and the ESB say repair crews are out and working to get customers back on the grid.

Trees have been reported down in Carrigaline, Dunmanway, Skibbereen and Clonakilty and across north and east Cork.

Speaking to RedFM News Padraig Barrett Director of Services with Cork County Council says tidal flooding in Bantry is a real concern:

"We've high tide there just after 4 o'clock, which coincides with the winds turning in a westerly direction, and that wind will still be gusting at that point so we are worried about flooding inventory around 4 o'clock and the rainfall will still be continuing up to that time but easing thankfully but we are concerned about tidal flooding as we move through the afternoon."
