A protest mounted at a site on the northside of the city which is being looked at to house refugees last night.
Hundreds stood outside the former Ennismore Retreat Centre in Mayfield after it was confirmed that the Ukraine Crisis Temporary Accommodation Team is at the advanced stages of looking at the site.
Locals say the schools and doctors surgeries in the community are already at capacity.
Speaking to RedFM News, Councillor Ken O'Flynn says there's no communication coming from Government:
I met a number of people they voiced their concerns which were about school places, doctor's appointments that are finding it difficult to use local services at this particular time. And they're concerned about bringing additional people and families into a community when there's no real information or communication coming from the Minister's office are coming from Cork City Council so people are very upset."
