A record delivery of 318,000 doses of Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines will arrive in Ireland today.
It comes a AstraZeneca and Johnson and Johnson vaccines to be used on under-40s.
Pharmacies are confident they'll be able to use the Johnson and Johnson jabs on all over-18s - as opposed to only over-50s.
UCC vaccines expert Dr Anne Moore says it would speed up the rollout of vaccines.
"They have a good role and an important role to play in being able to administer the Johnson and Johnson vaccine which is a single dose immunisations schedule.
"The more facilities and the more outlets we have for people to be vaccinated the better."
