Residents in Glanmire say they have had hardly any financial help since floods

Residents at an estate in Glanmire hit by severe flooding three weeks ago say they have had little to no financial help from the Government or City Council.

Over 20 homes at Copper Valley Vue were hit by a flash flood during Storm Babet.

Residents are calling for the event to be declared an emergency to allow works on a nearby culvert to be prioritised.

The group also want funds to be released to allow people to repair damage to their homes and are requesting a review of the City Council’s response to the flood.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to raise money for a flood barrier for the estate.
