Residents on the northside of Cork city impacted by a water outage tonight say the communication around the planned outage was poor
Over 2,100 residents could be without water in Blackpool, Montenotte and Faranree as Uisce Eireann carry out works expected to last 4 hours from half past 10 tonight.
The works are part of efforts to address long running issues with discoloured tap water which has led to protests in recent months
Speaking to RedFM News, Sonya Cashman from Spring Lane in Blackpool says while they welcome the works the planning around them was poor
"What they need to do is put in place a plan, and that's their problem. They lack planning. They think it's okay to tell 2000 people that your water is going to be off. And a lot of people are gonna say that's at night time but what if night time is the only time that you can get stuff done?"
