Restrictions will begin to be phased out from next week.
The Government is to unveil its reopening roadmap tomorrow, which will see an "early return" of communions, confirmations and indoor activities for children.
Employers will have the option to start welcoming workers back to the office from mid-September.
The Cabinet sub-committee on Covid-19 has been meeting again this evening to finalise the timeline for easing restrictions.
On his way into the meeting, Health Minister Stephen Donnelly was asked if this is the end of restrictions for good:
"We have to see how the disease progresses, and hopefully we can we can drive it down. I'll just emphasise again, when you look at Northern Ireland, you look at Scotland and Wales, the very, very significant increase in cases in those areas just in the last few weeks. We just need to remain vigilant here. Keep the guard up. We'll see."
