World Rugby isn't doing enough to tackle concussion, according to a former Wales international.
It comes as former New Zealand player Carl Hayman, who is just 41 years old, was diagnosed with early onset dementia.
He is the latest player to have developed the condition, and has joined a lawsuit against rugby authorities for the injuries he sustained while playing.
Former Wales international Alix Popham, who was diagnosed with early onset dementia last year at the age of 40, says players should be tested every year for potential brain injuries.
"When you sign your first contract you get baseline tested, and that's the full body and included in that is a DTI/MRI scan of the brain.
"We also want the return to play [protocols] increased from 6 days back to 3 weeks to allow the brain to recover."
