The 2020/21 Champions Cup campaign will have a distinctly different look to it.
EPCR have confirmed that this season's competition will consist of two pools of 12 teams each.
The tournament organisers have agreed the expanded one off format as they look to work around the impact of the Covid-19 situation.
It means all four Irish provinces have qualified for the tournament, which will take place over 8 weekends with four rounds of matches.
The quarter finals will be home and away ties, with the semi final and final played as standalone games.
The clubs will be separated into tiers, and clubs from the same league in the same tier will not be drawn into the same pool.
The four highest-ranked clubs in each pool will qualify for the quarter-finals, and the clubs ranked numbers 5 to 8 in each pool will compete in the knockout stage of the Challenge Cup.
The draw will take place in October.
