A group of rural TD's says the closure of 88 Bank of Ireland branches is a devastating blow to rural communities.
The branches including 9 in Cork City and County closed for the final time on Friday.
The Rural Independents claim the closures will hit rural towns disproportionately and say they have been calling on the government to intervene in the closures since they were announced in March.
Bank of Ireland say their customers will be able to carry out a range of banking transactions at over 900 post offices across the country for free.
Speaking to RedFM News, Rural Independent TD Michael Collins says people are very disappointed following the closures:
