Russia has launched one of its biggest aerial attacks of the year against Ukraine - killing at least 10 people and wounding 60 others.
Several cities were struck overnight - including the country's capital Kyiv.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claims around 110 missiles were fired.
Former commander of the Joint Forces Command - General Richard Barrons - explains what Russia's intentions might be.
"First is the sinking of the Russian landing ship in Crimea, and a response to Ukraine shooting down Russian military aircraft around the front line. So this is a message to Ukraine that Russia can hit anywhere in the country, but also a message to keep their air defence around the cities and not on the frontlines".
