They are reminding the public that there's always someone there to listen.
The chairty provide volunteers who are available to discuss anything at all, and are also able to direct those who need advice to the correct organisation.
It's also asking for donations to help run the service, as fundraising has been badly hit by lockdowns.
Brian Higgins has been a volunteer with Dublin Samaritans for 17 years, he explains why today is chosen:
"24/7 is an important date because it actually reflects our 24 7 nature of service, to emphasise the fact that we're there for everyone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on our free phone number 116 123. No matter what somebody is going through., if someone's just going through a tough time or someone's in the depths of despair, Samaritans are always there for someone to be there for them."
