It is hoped that a mental health initiative, launched in Cork today, will help people reach out to those struggling.
The See Change Green Ribbon campaign is now in its 11th year, and aims to breakdown the stigma around mental illness.
Earlier today, dozens gathered at County Hall, where advocates spoke about their experiences.
Nicola Byrne is the CEO of Shine, which runs the project, and says she hopes people will support it by wearing a ribbon
"I'd like to see as many people as possible in the month of September wearing a Green Ribbon. They're free and available through Boots pharmacies, Irish Rail stations, AIB and Eir stores or you can contact us on www.seachange.ie and order the free green ribbon. I would also like to see people create a social movement, where they're talking honestly about these issues. It would be lovely to say that we no longer need a Green Ribbon Campaign"
