Brett spoke about Cork Renegades’ participation in the Cork Paddy’s day parade
Brett Sutherland is the Co-Founder and President of the Cork Renegades, which is a newly established baseball club in Cork. Brett set up the club coinciding with the birth of his son Ozzy. Boasting members from the Americas, Eastern Europe, Africa, and everywhere in-between, the team consists of beginners and players with decades of experience, all excited to join the Baseball Ireland B-League for the 2023 season. Eimear talks about Plan Be’s Participation in the Patrick’s Day Parade
Eimear is a member/teacher at Plan Be Studios which is owned by Megan Blyth. It was set up in 2017 and offers both accelerated programme dance classes and open dance classes for students aged 3+, as well as weekly adult classes open to all. It is the dance school’s first time taking part in the Parade.  With 14 members taking part and dancing in this year’s parade. Wiktor and the Scouts will be marching in this year’s Patrick’s day festival
The Polish Scout Group which was formed in 2010 was the first Polish Scout Group in Ireland.Its 20 members have marched in the parade every year since its formation. At the Parade the Polish Scout Group will be dressed in official uniforms of the Polish Scouting Association and the Polish Community will be represented by members of the Polish Library (it’s where the group is based)who will be dressed in traditional costumes and weaving traditional Polish Flags.

Dóirin talks up the group’s involvement in this year’s St Patrick’s Day Parade
The Bodhrán Bookills is comprised of 5th and 6th class boys in St. Joseph’s National School in the Mardyke, there are 50 members with 42 participating in the St Patrick’s day parade this year. The Bodhrán Bookills have been in existence since the 1990s and have performed for Queen Elizabeth, King Charles, and the Queen Consort Camilla. They all play the bodhrán and compose their own compositions.

Lyra stopped by to speak with Dave as part of Irish Music Month. She also came to promote her new single “You”. It’s a track that steers clear of your stereotypical breakup song. You, is actually about getting together with someone. She also spoke about her upcoming performance on Dancing With The Stars, as well as her role in the Dancing With The Stars podcast. We find out if Lyra has any ambitions to take part in next year’s series.

PJ is hosting a ‘Géilí’ @ the LGBTQ+ club event hosted by Mother at Dublin’s St Patrick’s Festival Thurs 16th
On opening night, Thursday 16th March, Cultúr Club will see St. Patrick’s Festival and LGBTQ+ Club promoters, Mother collaborate once again on the eve of the world’s largest celebration of Irish culture for one big party in Dublin. On the Mainstage at the National Museum of Ireland Collins Barracks, Cultúr Club will host the first ever LGBTQ+ ‘Géilí’ led by the fabulous Cork podcaster PJ Kirby, of the I’m Grand Mam podcast. Apart from organizing events, PJ is one half of the podcast pioneers with the  “I’m Grand Mam Podcast”. He discusses the podcast’s appeal along with the appeal of their accent to the London demographic. Irish Musician Aimée spoke to us on International Women’s day
Aimée spoke to Dave on International Women’s day, about recording a cover of Hallelujah in a lift with a few of the ladies that make up Irish women in harmony. She is also the most played Irish female artist on Irish radio in 2022, with her new single Nobody Else. Off the back of her success last year, Amy has several live performances planned this year such as at Rock Against Homelessness in aid of Focus Ireland, Sea Sessions in Donegal, and a free Red FM listeners party in Cyprus Avenue at the end of April. Eoin spoke to Dave ahead of their performance at the Mitchelstown Caves
Talos played an intimate gig in front of an audience of 80-100 people. It’s their 3rd time playing in the venue. It coincided with the launch of the Galaxy s23, in the cave. Free transport was provided to and from the gig, with drink and grab and go food bags on site. One lucky person also got the opportunity to win the new Galaxy s23. Claire on “Daughter Of God” at Granary Theatre
Claire spoke to Dave ahead of a dress rehearsal of Rodrick Forde’s play Daughter Of God, which is coming to the Granary Theatre, March 8th – March 11th. The show is produced by Donal Gallagher It tells the tale of three sisters trapped in a dystopian nightmare, with Claire playing the mother of the 3 girls. It’s a dark show with elements of comedy. Gerald on the concept of ‘Grand Theft Audio’ the concert
Gerald Ahern talks about an event titled Grand Theft Audio, which will allow members of the public to tune into the various soundtracks from Grand Theft Auto. It’s in the form of a radio where you can flick through the music at your own pleasure, from station to station. It’s also very much a visual experience with the game itself being displayed on a giant screen.

David chats to Dave about his participation in the.IE Digital Town Awards
David talks about the time he was walking around the park in Ballincollig and came across the old gunpowder buildings and got thinking about how more people need to know about the historical significance of it. He then went on to put a Powdermills Voluntary Committee together. On Sunday, March 5th BHAA (Business House Athletics in Cork for 40 years) held a 5K race at MTU Cork with €1 from every entry going towards the Turkish Branch of UNICEF and clothes donations for the people of Haiti.

Shilane talks about a dance off happening at Cork Opera House
This year UCC hosted the national Intervarsity dance competition at Cork Opera House. This large-scale event is held once a year and features over 500 dancers from 11 colleges across Ireland competing. This is a student run show, solely organised by a committee of UCC dance students. We have hired over 10 dance judges who are renowned for their career in different styles from Irish to hip hop to jazz. This will be the first proper intervarsity’s held since 2020 due to the pandemic. Various styles of dance will be on display including Hip-Hop, Irish Dance, Contemporary, and Jazz. It kicks off at 10 am through to 6.30- 7 pm.

Jack talks up the Cork Proms Series at Cork Opera House in April
Tuesday 21st saw the launch of the Cork Proms Series in Cork Opera House. It’s a 5 night event taking place throughout the start of April. Jack will be paying tribute to the Beatles, he’ll be joined on the night by Wallis Bird and Emma Nash, they will also be accompanied by the Cork Opera House Orchestra. Brendan Canty talks up Youghal’s 14th First Cut Film Festival
Brendan, whose production credits include Hozier’s-Take Me To Church Video, chats about the up and coming 14th annual First Cut Film Festival. It’s taking place in Youghal’s Regal Cinema and the Mall Arts Centre. 200 films will be screened from March 7th -11th. The age range of participants is from 12-25. They will have their films screened, be able to attend workshops as well as get the opportunity to receive a €5,000 bursary as part of the best music video award. Martin on a memorial fundraising run for his sister Karen
The Karen Fenton Memorial 5k run is taking place on April 23rd, at 12.30 pm. It’s a tribute and fundraising event in aid of 43 year old Karen who sadly lost her battle with ovarian cancer in April of 2017. The first memorial event happened 12 months later. The aim of the memorial run is to raise much needed funds for those who are battling ovarian cancer as well as for research into the illness.
