In News- A workplace fatality in Carriglusk,Glandore yesterday afternoon and the ASTI has cautiously welcomed the reopening of schools.   In Sport- Cork U20 Hurlers are in Munster final action against Limerick this evening and Bronze for Irish Olympians.   On Neil Prendeville show-  Neil spoke to Counceller Paudie Dineen,who is also a publican, about pubs refusing entry for no good reason.

In News- Several businesses in Bantry won’t be reopening to indoor dining this week and a Junior Minister says latest Covid 19 data will be used to decide if attendance at weddings can be increased to 100 from next month.   In Sport- Lions boss Warren Gatland has made 3 changes ahead of his sides meeting with South Africa this weekend and the electric Ireland Munster Minor Championship Hurling semi- final is taking place this evening with the Rebels taking on Limerick.    On Neil Prendeville – Neil spoke to Aine from The Harp Bar after they were trolled online by people because they decided to open for indoor dining.

In News- Cork’s pubs, restaurants and cafes have resumed indoor dining today and a weather warning is coming into effect for the entire country that will be in place today until 5 o ‘clock tomorrow morning.    In Sport- The draw has been made for the All- Ireland Hurling Championship quarter- finals with Cork will face Dublin and Rebel’s Football manager Ronan McCarthy wouldn’t comment on his future yesterday after his sides heavy defeat to Kerry in the Munster final.   On the Neil Prendeville show – Neil spoke to Chris Crowley from The Anglers Rest as Indoor dining re-opens today.  They have decided to remain as an outdoor only pub for the moment.

In News – New Plans to revamp Páirc Uí Chaoimh and the online Safety and Media Regulation bill is currently working its way through the Oireachtas . In Sport- Cobh Ramblers have announced that Darren Murphy will replace Stuart Ashton on a interim basis and Cork are the Munster U20 Football champions. On the Neil Prendeville show- Neil spoke to Sinn Fein Leader Mary Lou McDonald about upcoming changes to Indoor dining, including the use of vaccine certificates.

In News- A number of publicans in Cork have announced they will remain closed to indoor dining as many of their young staff are still not vaccinated and water restrictions could be introduced in parts of Cork next week if water consumption doesn’t fall significantly.   In Sport- Cork’s U20s are preparing for tonight’s Munster final against Tipperary and two Cork rowers are the first Irish athletes in action at the Olympic games tonight. Neil Prendeville show – Neil spoke to Niamh about the current restrictions surrounding weddings.  She is due to get married next month after already postponing her big day.

In News- The number of people seeking help for cocaine abuse in Cork has almost trebled in the last 6 years and ministers are expected to approve guidelines for the reopening of indoor dining from Monday. In Sport- Warren Gatland has named his Lions starting 15 for Saturday’s first test with South Africa in Capetown and Cork face Waterford in the Munster Minor Football championship. On the Neil Prendeville show- Neil spoke to Caroline about the behaviour she witnessed in Cork City on Saturday evening.

In News- Gardai are appealing to the public not to engage with scam callers and developers have been unsuccessful in their appeal on the refusal for planning for apartments at the former Bessborough Mother and Baby Homes site. In Sport- Cork’s U20 Hurlers are in Munster semi- final action against Tipperary this evening and Kellie Harrington says she’ll be honoured to carry the Irish flag with Brendan Irvine and Friday’s Olympics opening Ceremony. On the Neil Prendeville show- Neil spoke to Teresa Venables who started the businesses during the pandemic. So far it has put a million euro worth of online sales back into the hands of small Irish businesses.

In News- Non-essential international travel has reopened today with reduced flight capacity and temperatures could reach 31 degrees in parts of the country this week.  In Sport-The draw has been made for round two of the All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Qualifiers with Cork being drawn against Clare and Séamus Power has claimed his first PGA tour title.  On the Neil Prendeville show – Neil spoke with Kevin Cullinane, Head of Communications at Cork Airport about the reopening of international travel for non-essential travel.

In News- Drafting of legislation in relation to stalking is to be introduced in the Seanad in the autumn, also going before the Seanad is legislation that will allow for indoor dining for the first time since Christmas.  In Sport- Cork City play away to Wexford Youths this evening and Cork secure a place in the U20 Munster Football final after beating Kerry in Pairc Ui Chiomh last night.    On the Neil Prendeville show – Neil spoke about the cost many parents are facing to get their children ready for heading back to school.

In News- The €46 million Grand Parade Quarter project will see the area totally re-imagined and Elton John has announced a summer gig in Páirc Uí Chaoimh in 2022.   In Sport- Cork take on Kerry in the Munster U20 football championship semi-final and Cork’s minor hurlers eased past Clare last night in the Munster quarter-final.   On the Neil Prendeville Show – Neil spoke to solicitor Richard Grogan, who has been giving out legal advice on Instagram and answering a number of questions concerning the Covid 19 rules.

In News- The Cork City development plan is to go for public consultation this month and nitrogen levels have been found to be too high in five Cork rivers. In Sport – Cork take on Clare in the Munster minor championship quarter final tonight and Cork City were drawn away to Sligo Rovers in Round 1 of FAI Cup last night. On the Neil Prendeville show- Earlier this week 66-year-old grandmother Margret Buttimer was jailed for 90 days for repeated facemask offences. Seamus Whelehan took to the streets of Cork to ask: ‘Was the sentencing too harsh?’

In News – Minister of State Hildegarde Naughton says there are plans to increase connectivity at Cork Airport according and the Taoiseach says there is a risk to opening indoor dining but it is being done in a cautious and safe manner. In Sport- The fallout continues from Sunday nights Euro 2020 final and there’s one game in the Red FM Hurling league division 1B. In News- The Restaurants Association of Ireland believes indoor dining will return on the 22nd or 23rd of July and proof of vacation will be issued to around 1.9 million people from today. In Sport- Italy are Euro 2020 champions after beating England 3-2 on penalties and Cork have received a buy into round 2 of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Qualifiers. On the Neil Prendeville show- Last week Ita spoke to Neil about her desire to overcome her fear of needles and get vaccinated. This morning she told him how she updated him on how she’s been getting on.

In News- The government is looking to pass new legislation allowing only vaccinated people to eat inside restaurants and the Junior Sports Minister has hinted at more increased crowds at matches as the summer progresses. In Sport- Cork City boss Colin Healy says he can see improvements in his side, but they need to turn those improvements into wins and there’s 1 fixture in the Red FM hurling league division 1A. In News- The Transport Minister says he believes that every fully vaccinated person will have their digital covid cert by July 19th and 60 people are in Irish hospitals this morning with covid 19. In Sport- England face Denmark in the semi-final of the European championships and the Lions take on the Sharks in Johannesburg at Six O’Clock this evening. On the Neil Prendeville show- Neil spoke to Majella about the current state of Nursing Homes. Her Mother died in a nursing home back in October.

In News- A former stage manager of U2 has been rescued by Kinsale RNLI and 50% of adults are now fully vaccinated against covid 19. In Sport- Wimbledon becomes the first sporting event in the UK to host a full capacity crowd since the first coronavirus lockdown and Spain face Italy in the semi- final of the Euros. On the Neil Prendeville show – Neil spoke to Pat Dawson, the CEO of the Irish Travel Agents Association about the prospect of travel to the EU after 19th July.

In Sport – Ian Henderson will captain the Lions for the first time as they face the Sharks in Johannesburg on Wednesday and week 2 of Wimbledon gets underway. In News- Calls for a public inquiry into nursing home deaths have been raised in the Dáil by two Cork TD’s and Over 18s will be able to sign up to get a vaccine in their local pharmacy under new plans announced today. In Sport – Andy Murray is to compete today in the third round of Wimbledon and Cork City face Treaty United at Turner’s Cross in the SSE Airtricity League 1st division. On the Neil Prendeville show – Neil spoke to Cork TD Thomas Gould about the way Covid was handled in nursing homes.
