Treacherous conditions are being reported on roads right across Cork and the entire country this morning.
Showers of hail, sleet and snow fell overnight in many areas, with snow showers reported right across Cork this morning howver it had little impact on rush hour traffic this morning
Gardai are advising motorists to proceed with care particularly on untreated or minor routes across the city and county
A yellow weather warning is in effect for every county and that's due to expire at midday
Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather says conditions could change very quickly throughout the day.
"We had a cold front go through yesterday evening, and now we have much colder air coming in, and it's very unstable.
"It's bringing in heavy showers which will make it inland, and there is even a risk of some thundery downpours at time with thunder and lightning possible.
"That will change conditions very quickly."
