Interim Cobh Ramblers boss Ivan Bevan is hopeful he'll be offered the job on a full time basis.
The Ramblers Academy director was put in temporary charge following the departure of Darren Murphy last week, and takes over a Ramblers team with just two wins from 19 games.
He takes his side to Turner's Cross for a clash with rivals Cork City tomorrow night.
And Bevan told RedFM sport that while he'd like to take the job full time, he knows they have to turn in a performance against City first.
"If we win on Friday night, and I got a phone call on Saturday morning, it would be very hard to say no.
"On the other hand, I love what I'm doing with the academy, I really, really enjoy doing it.
"I'm not going in with any ambitions beyond Friday, that's what I was asked to do - take the team to Friday.
"But again, if you get a phone call on Saturday morning, how could you turn it down? There's only 19 jobs in the country, how could you turn it down?"
