Everton have received an apology from referees' chief Mike Riley for the non awarding of a penalty against Manchester City on Saturday.
The toffees felt they should have been awarded a spot kick after Rodri handled the ball in the penalty area, however referee Paul Tierney did not award it.
Riley, the general manager of the Professional Game Match Officials Limited has called Everton manager Frank Lampard and chairman Bill Kenwright to apologise.
The defeat to City leaves Everton in 17th a point above the relegation Zone.
The Toffees will fall in to the bottom three if Burnley can get a result against Leicester City this evening - that kicks off at 7.45.
Lampard was livid the penalty wasn't awarded when speaking to Sky Sports after the game:
🗣 “I’ve got a three-year-old daughter at home who could tell you that’s a penalty.”
