Cathal Heffernan is set to sign on loan with AC Milan.
The Cork City defender, the son of Olympians rob and Marian, will go on loan with the Italian giants for the rest of the season, with Milan having the option to purchase him.
The 17 year old had trials with Juventus, Atalanta and Roma, and also spent time at German side Bayer Leverkusen.
Heffernan made his league debut for City against Galway United on the last day of the season, and has also represented the Republic of Ireland at underage level.
