Liverpool chief executive Peter Moore says the club are “truly sorry” for furloughing staff.
The Premier League leaders reversed their decision to place some non-playing staff on the UK government’s coronavirus job retention scheme.
Moore says the club arrived at the ‘wrong conclusion’ and would explore other avenues to be able to continue to pay staff.
Former captain Jamie Carragher welcomed the u-turn saying the original decision had embarrassed fans.
Manchester United and Manchester City both say they will not furlough staff.
