Former Barcelona star Xavi is the hot favourite to replace Ronald Koeman at the Nou Camp.
Koeman was sacked by club President Joan Laporta last night after the 1-0 defeat to Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.
Barcelona are currently ninth in the League and in danger of exiting the Champions League at the Group stage.
Xavi is currently in charge of Qatar club Al Sadd, but a return to Barcelona is on the cards, according to Spanish football journalist Graham Hunter.
