The State can no longer provide accommodation to all asylum seekers.

The Department of Integration say it's down to a severe shortage.

A spokesperson for the Department of Integration says Ireland is currently accommodating more than 100 thousand people fleeing war in Ukraine and those seeking International Protection.

Despite intense efforts to source emergency accommodation , the Department is currently not in a position to provide accommodation to all those seeking asylum.

In a statement the spokesperson says various issues beyond the control of the Department have resulted in offers of accommodation and contracts not being progressed.

Drop-in day services will be available to those without accommodation, where IP applicants will have access to hot showers, meals and laundry services.

Tents and sleeping bags will be provided where required.

Two charities will provide these services in Dublin in the event they are needed.

Officials are working to bring more bed spaces into use.
