Met Eireann has issued an Orange warning for wind on Saturday for Cork as Storm Kathleen is gaining momentum in the Atlantic.
The entire country has been placed on a Status Yellow weather alert with strong and gusty southerly winds which could lead to difficult travel conditions and some coastal flooding.
The orange weather alert comes into effect at 7am on Saturday morning and will stay in place until 5pm that evening while the yellow warning remains in operation until 8pm.
