Cork is bracing itself for Storm Kathleen which is due to make landfall tomorrow.
Met Éireann has issued an Orange Wind warning which will be in operation from 7am to 2pm tomorrow in Cork, Kerry and Waterford and extended until 6pm in Galway and Mayo.
The City and County Council's Severe Weather Assessment Teams are currently meeting as the storm is expected to lead to fallen trees, coastal flooding and difficult travel conditions.
Members of the public are being urged to stay off the roads where possible tomorrow and stay high and dry and away from the coast, rivers and lakes.
Repair crews from the Council, the ESB and Uisce Éireann are all on standby and ready to respond to any emergencies over the weekend.
