A student who tried to save the life of a man who died five days after being attacked with a samurai sword in Cobh has spoken about the incident.
A murder investigation is expected to be launched after 33-year-old Ian Baitson from Cobh died yesterday at Cork University Hospital.
Several houses in the town have been searched since Friday as Gardaí attempt to trace a man wanted in relation to the investigation, while a post mortem is taking place today.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show 18-year-old Aryian says his thoughts are with Ian Baitson’s family:
"I suppose it was pretty hard for me that first night, the nights are very short and you think about very much. My thoughts and my prayers are with Ian and his family cause like, what they're going through is like so much worse than what I was going through. And that's why it is like so important that everyone thinks of them and I have my thoughts and prayers are with them."
