A site earmarked for asylum seekers in Coolock in Dublin is now subject to a garda investigation after a suspected arson attack
A major policing operation has been underway at the former Crown Paints factory since Monday when protests turned violent.
Last night a fire broke out in the lobby but it was later put out.
Conor Lally, the Irish Times Security and Crime Editor, said it happened right under the nose of Gardaí;
"Gardai appeared to believe that it was secured because of that three meter high concrete wall that was placed at the entrance. But there doesn't seem to have been Gardai inside the site last night when the fire broke out. We're not absolutely sure of that, but we don't think there was. So it appears the Garda operation was confined to the exterior".
