The Tánaiste says the continued bombardment of Rafah by Israel will constitute a war crime.
Two hostages were freed by Israel and it’s reported up to 70 people were killed in Gaza during the operation.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the country will continue to try to free hostages taken by Hamas at the start of October.
Tánaiste Micheál Martin says a planned ground invasion by Israel must be called off:
"To bomb and to mount a military operation in such a confined area, with so many people is absolutely inhumane, unacceptable; and the international community must do everything it possibly can".
