Micheál Martin said the peak of the current wave of Covid won't come until towards the end of September.
He said he understands the frustration for sectors like live events that haven't been able to open yet.
Micheál Martin says they will have clarity soon:
"We will be over the course of the next week working, obviously with public health advice and Cabinet colleagues in terms of preparing a roadmap, as we said we would at the beginning of the month, for the next phase of the management of COVID-19, and also in terms of a comprehensive roadmap for that next phase and reopening further sectors of society."
