Teenagers are bringing knifes and knuckle rings to organised fights on the north and south side of Cork City.

That's according to a local councillor who says parents are worried about their 15 and 16 year old children meeting up in large groups to fight with other gangs.

Parents are calling on each other to be vigilant of where their child is going and hoping Gardaí will crack down on the matter before someone gets seriously injured.

Councillor Mick Finn says these fights need to stop:

"My fear is that it will be serious there. You know, there was the presence of names were mentioned, the President is not going to rings, you know, which can cause serious facial injuries. You know it is happening. And I think the Gardaí needs to be more responsive and for that to happen, I think they need to be resourced, better."
