Temperatures could drop as low as -5°C tonight, with more weather alerts issued.
The entire country will be affected by status yellow ice warnings between the hours of 6 o'clock this evening and 11 o'clock tomorrow morning.
Andrew Doran-Sherlock says the cold spell is here to stay for the rest of the week:
"It's going to get colder especially for Wednesday and Thursday nights. Those are looking like the coldest in particular. But even so far, from last night into this morning, we've had a temperature of -3.8°C recorded at Casement Aerodrome in Dublin. We're going see temperatures getting down to -5°C in many areas. Particularly over the southern half of the country".
