The former Finance Minister says he expects a decision on the long-stalled Event Centre will be made next month.
It’s one of the longest running sagas in the city’s recent history, at almost eight and a half years since the sod turning for the 6,000-seater venue.
Cork City Council submitted a request to Government for more funding at the end of year, however it is not publicly known how much extra funding is needed for the project.
Michael McGrath was asked about the latest timeline today
"It sits within the Department of Housing and they have carried out their own due diligence and need to be satisfied in relation to the certain aspects of the project. I am very confident that Government will make a decision very shortly. I do expect a decision in the next few weeks, I would anticipate"
