- The country is set to remain in the grips of an arctic blast until the end of the week. Temperatures in some areas in Cork have hit as low as minus 8 degrees with places like Douglas, Carrignavar and Ballyvolane seeing tempeartures as low as minus 5 this morning.
- Richard Satchwell is due back in court again this morning, charged with the murder of his wife. Tina Satchwell who was from Fermoy and living in Youghal had been missing for six years before her body was found in October of last year.
- Local businesses are extremely hard to replace. That’s according to the Restaurants Association of Ireland who says more businesses are shutting down because of wage inflation, soaring energy costs and high VAT rates. The White Rabbit has announced that it’s closing its branch on MacCurtain Street while The Oyster Tavern, Nash 19 and Tung Sing on Patrick Street have recently announced closures.
- Pairc Ui Chaoimh could soon be called SuperValu Park. A naming rights deal by county board delegates will go ahead tonight.
