There are no reports of any injuries following a major fire at a derelict former convent in Cork city late last night. It's understood the fire broke out at the former Good Shepard Convent before midnight.
Sunday's Well road is closed between Convent Avenue and Strawberry Hill road and the fire service says the road closure is likely to remain in place for the rest of this morning.

The hot topic over when it's acceptable to turn the heating off for the summer appears to have been resolved. A survey of 2,000 people found it should be switched off when the outside temperature is a consistent 15 degrees or higher.
