There are no reports of any injuries following a major fire at a derelict former convent in Cork city late last night. It's understood the fire broke out at the former Good Shepard Convent before midnight.

Sunday's Well road is closed between Convent Avenue and Strawberry Hill road and the fire service says the road closure is likely to remain in place for the rest of this morning.

A Status Yellow weather warning for rain has been issued for Cork. It begins at 11pm tonight and runs until midday tomorrow.
