Families of residents at a Cork nursing home say they will not give up in their fight for more funding for the sector.

A large group representing residents at Beaumont nursing home staged a protest outside the Dail yesterday appealing to the Taoiseach to urgently intervene in the dispute.

53 residents of the nursing home may have to leave unless an agreement between management and the National Treatment Purchase Fund can be reached to meet cost of living increases.

Protests are expected in Cork this morning as The Consultative Forum on International Security Policy begins.

The four day forum will include participation from civilians as well as military experts.
