The performing arts industry in Cork are confident that demand for tickets will be strong when theatres reopen.
Rehearsals for the play "Philadelphia, Here I Come" are getting underway at the Cork Opera House in the coming days, while the Everyman Theatre will open on the 23rd of September with the play, "Heart of a Dog"....
It's hoped the reopening of live indoor events will give actors, producers, theatre staff and the hospitality trade a much needed boost following lockdown.
Speaking to RedFM News, producer of "Philadelphia, Here I Come", Patrick Talbot says live performance is an important part of people's lives.
"Arts events, stand up comedy, music, rock and roll - we've been starved of it for nearly two years.
"I think there's an appetite, I think there's a hunger and I think audiences will greatly welcome the news.
"I'm really looking forward to seeing this production, and seeing and engaging with audiences again."
