There are calls for an investigation into the hacking of the Foreign Affairs and Defence Minister's phone.

Yesterday, Simon Coveney revealed he had been the victim of a hack, while answering questions around the now defunct appointment of Katherine Zappone to a UN Special Envoy role.

He said it was part of the reason he deleted texts between himself and Ms Zappone and himself and the Tanaiste - a decision the Taoiseach has described as not best practice.

The performing arts industry in Cork are confident that demand for tickets will be strong when theatres reopen.

Rehearsals for the play "Philadelphia, Here I Come" are getting underway at the Cork Opera House in the coming days, while the Everyman Theatre will open on the 23rd of September with the play, "Heart of a Dog"....

It's hoped the reopening of live indoor events will give actors, producers, theatre staff and the hospitality trade a much needed boost following lockdown.

A study suggests being double-jabbed halves the likelihood of long Covid in adults who get Covid.

Researchers also say people were 73 per cent less likely to be admitted to hospital with the virus if they're fully vaccinated.

They analysed data from more than two million people, between December 2020 and this July.

The Government is due to announce a new multi-billion euro housing plan later today.

The 'Housing for All' programme will replace 'Rebuilding Ireland' which was launched back in 2016.

It's reported the new strategy will see local authorities given greater ability to purchase land for social and affordable housing.
