Bridgerton is the latest major hit on Netflix.
The show has garnered over 63 million viewers since it's release over the Christmas period, making it one of the most successful shows ever created on the streaming platform.
Bridgerton is a period drama that focuses on a family who live in high society England and their complicated love lives, based on romance novels by Julia Quinn.
The show's creator Chris Van Dusen has said following the success of the first series and the fact that there are eight novels in total, there could be an additional seven seasons of Bridgerton to come!
In an interview with Collider this week, Van Dusen said the series could well indeed follow the format of the books saying, "This being a family of eight children and there being eight books, I would love to be able to focus and really tell stories and love stories for all the Bridgerton siblings."
When quizzed whether that meant there will be a total of eight seasons of he show he said, “I would love that. In success, I would love that.”
Season one of the show, starring Regé-Jean Page, Pheobe Dynevor and Galway's Nicola Coughlan, focuses on young debutant Daphne Bridgerton who has just been introduced to society.
