I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here will be filmed in the UK for the first time since the show began.

Due to border restrictions because of the current Covid-19 pandemic, show producers have decided to keep the show closer to home.

Since the first series of the reality show in 2002, show hosts, crew, celebrities and their family and friends would travel to Australia to stay in the jungle, however this year it won't be as exotic.

It is being reported that this year's batch of familiar faces will spend their time in rural UK castle ruin and will become King of Queen of the castle instead of the jungle.

Ant & Dec are set to return as hosts for the 2020 edition of the show but there is no indication of what stars will be appearing on our screens to take on the usual gruelling trials.

Richard Cowles, Director of Entertainment at ITV Studios said: “We pulled out all the stops to try and make the series happen in Australia.

"Unfortunately, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and despite us looking at many different contingencies, it became apparent that it just wasn’t possible for us to travel and make the show there.

"However, we are all really excited about a UK version of I’m A Celebrity.

"While it will certainly be different producing the show from the UK, the same tone and feel will remain.

“Our celebrities will probably have to swap shorts for thermals but they can still look forward to a basic diet of rice and beans and plenty of thrills and surprises along the way”.
