Two Cork Secondary schools have advised students who feel unwell to seek medical treatment after groups from the schools returned from trips to northern Italy.
The principal of Christ King Secondary School on the South Douglas Road Richel Long gave the advice to parents yesterday following reports of over 300 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Italy.
Students at the all-girls school visited northern Italy between the 12th and 17th of this month.
Cork Beo reports that students at Colaiste Chriost Rí in Turner's Cross also returned from Italy on the 19th of this month following a skiing trip in the north of the country.
Health authorities are advising people returning from northern Italy to self-isolate if they are displaying symptoms.
Meanwhile, a number of schools have sent pupils home as a precaution in Northern Ireland, after mid-term ski trips to the region.
