Two of the four people injured when a plane crash landed yesterday evening were working for UCC at the time.
According to The Echo, the university's employees were conducting a survey of marine life in Irish offshore waters, as part of the ObSERVE II project.
The pilot has been commended for their skill in safely landing the aircraft after it experienced a mechanical failure.
None of the resulting injuries were life-threatening.
