A UCC lecturer says no student should ever be the victim of racial discrimination.
The Irish Council for International Students is launching its “Speak Out Against Racism Campaign” at UCC to discuss racism in Ireland.
The group aims to highlight racism in Ireland, show solidarity with victims of racial discrimination and inform people of the steps to take when faced with racism.
Speak Out Against Racism Campain’s Chairperson and UCC lecturer Amanullah De Sondy says institutions like universities should be a safe place:
"We want to make sure that every instituon becomes anti-racist, it just takes one small incident to happen to one of our students and that's harmful for all of us, so we just want to deter people to not disriminate against people."
