Uisce Eireann says they are unable to provide water tanker or vouchers to households in Cork affected by dirty water
Residents on the northside of the city say they've been dealing with brown water for nearly 2 years and some have been spending up to €120 a month on bottled water.
They are calling for water tankers and shop vouchers to be provided so they can access clean water.
Speaking to RedFM news, Brian O'Leary, from Uisce Eireann, says they understand people are suffering but they do not have the funding.
"We know people are suffering from discolored water, but it is intermittent, and on the basis of that we're not funded to provide alternative water supplies or to send out tankers or things like that all the dots stems from putting, you know, do not consume notice on the overall water supply for Cork city which, on the basis of everything that we're seeing isn't warranted at this time".
