Flushing works are continuing today as Uisce Eireann attempt to resolve issues with discoloured water supply issues across Cork
Residents in parts of the city have been complaining of intermittent discolouration over the last few weeks
Uisce Eireann says the flushing works initially result in increased discolouration locally as the water is used to remove sediment from the network at hydrants.
Speaking to RedFM News Brian O’Leary of Uisce Eireann says he's confident the works will resolve the issue
"We are carrying out works to address a recent spike in discolouration issues and we are confident that these measures will help. We are also continuing with our programme of flushing in the city to improve water quality. In the meantime I want to reassure the people of Cork city that the water is safe to consume once it's running clear"
