122 new Gardaí have been sworn in today.
They will be joined by another 26 in the coming weeks, as the groups were split for the ceremony in order to comply with Covid guidelines.
It brings the total number of Gardaí to 14,411.
The new officers began their training in May last year and have undertaken a blend of on-line learning, on-site learning in the Garda College, and work experience in stations.
800 further recruits will begin their training this year.
