CSO figures show the rate of vaccination varies across the country for children.
The number of children aged 5 to 11 fully vaccinated against Covid ranges from from 4 per cent in the Buncrana Local Electoral Area in Donegal to 54 per cent in Stillorgan in Dublin.
The CSO figures published today also show overall just 1 in five of that age cohort have been fully vaccinated, up to the 31st of July.
The figures also show just 16 per cent of employees across all sectors are not fully vaccinated.
The accommodation and food services sector had the highest percentage of employees who were not fully vaccinated at 22 per cent.
Separately , Health Minister Stephen Donnelly's tweeted that getting a Covid 19 vaccine and booster remains the best protection from severe disease and hospitalisation.
Of those aged 15 to 49 who were hospitalised due to Covid , 47 per cent had not completed the primary vaccination course, according to HSE figures.
