1. Blarney Castle Loop
Even though the castle is closed, you can still enjoy the surroundings of Blarney Castle’s gardens, with 10 km worth of paths this is the perfect place for scenic family strolls. The walk has lots of surprises along the way from sculptures to waterfalls. The walk takes about an hour but you can turn around at many points and come back if you want a shorter walk.
2. Doneraile Wildlife Park
There are two loops to choose from firstly, a longer 5.1 km perimeter loop and a shorter 2.3 km east loop. Both of which are flat and easy for kids with well-maintained and signposted routes. You can also enjoy magnificent Capability Brown-style vistas, specimen tree avenues, formal still water ponds, and view the various herds of deer grazing alongside rare breed Kerry Cattle.
3. Giant’s Grave Loop
The Giant's Grave Loop is a 2.3 km walk in Curraghbinny woods near Carrigaline. It’s a really easy walk for everybody, with just a short uphill trek before reaching the top of the hill where you will be standing in front of the “Giant’s Grave”, which was excavated in 1932. The walk features beautiful wildflowers and is a nice spot for bird watching.
4. Gougane Barra Forest Park
Located near Bealanageary, there are many loops available to take in the beautiful forest. There are six trails on offer, ranging from just 10 minutes to an hour and 45 minutes, so there are plenty to chose from. Signposts clearly describe the trail options, it is definitely recommended to check out the beautiful lake by taking the Slí Doire Na Coise route which takes about 45 minutes.
5. Ballycotton Cliff Walk
