The lifeboat will become the 11th to be stationed in Courtmacsherry since the foundation of the Station in 1825.
The 'Val Adnams' is a state of the art new Shannon Class lifeboat that'll serve on the south west coast
Vincent O'Donovan from Courtmacsherry Lifeboat says it will arrive into the village at a quarter to 2, this afternoon.
It's an amazing boat really. The big change is that it's jet propelled rather than the traditional propellers. It's the most modern lifeboat in the RNLI fleet. It's got a very low draught. It's designed by a Derry man. It's called after an Irish river. It's very fast manoeuvrable and it can work in very shallow waters"
