This morning we spoke to Tim who is a 50 year old living alone in the city. He has never had a girlfriend and has never been on a date. He feels chronically lonely and goes out to cafe's for breakfast just to have some daily human contact. He is urging people to be nicer to each other, speak to each other and has set up a blog. We also speak to Nicole, a student from Wicklow, studying in Cork. She says some students in Cork are forced to live in tiny, shoe box sized apartments with no ventilation and sub-standard conditions. She also thinks student rents are too high! Today we also highlighted the cost of back to school with parents paying up to €700 for a first year student.
