There's been a broad welcome to the news that construction work on the Events Centre will begin later this year
A recent meeting of the the City Council heard that the detailed design process is ongoing and will be completed at the end of Quarter 2.
It's expected that construction will start at the former Beamish & Crawford site at the beginning of Quarter 3 and will take up to two years to complete.
Independent Councillor Mick Finn told RedFM News that the Centre will be a great boost for Cork and the entire Munster region:
