There are calls for the government to establish a National Director of Ukrainian Response.
It's after the Taoiseach and Ministers Roderic O'Gorman and Joe O'Brien met with civil organisations in relation to Ukrainian refugees.
It comes amid reports the government is considering paying households who offer a room to refugees, up to 400 euro to cover costs.
Chair of The Open Community, Colm O'Gorman, says neighbours and friends of hosts families can be given resources to provide practical assistance on top of this:
"For most people, they're not simply going to have somebody come to live with them for a month or two. It may well be a longer term solution. And for that to work, we need a good structured plan put in place, that people can organise and put in place themselves. But they need some tools and resources to do that and that's exactly what the open community is going to provide".
